How to Check for Warrants Without Getting Caught

Checking if someone has a warrant is a normal thing for many people. It’s common to want to make sure that friends, family members, romantic interests, and other important people in your life are staying out of trouble and on the up and up. Knowing how to check for warrants is the key to getting this kind of information. If you’re concerned the person in question will find out, the good news is that it’s exceedingly easy to find this information on the down low without the person ever knowing.

The Art of Secretly Looking up Warrants.

‘Luckily for you, there isn’t any type of notification system that tells people with warrants that someone was looking into them. So, as long as you don’t live with the person in question this inquiry should be a piece of cake to conceal.

On the other hand, if you live with the person in question it can be a little trickier especially if you share a very limited amount of space. But there are steps that you can take to ensure that your cohabitant doesn’t discover your search.

  • Make sure they aren’t home. Of course, you can wait until they aren’t in the same room but to make sure that you have enough time to find the information before they have a chance to look over your shoulder.
  • If possible, use an incognito browser for this search. In Chrome and Safari it’s called Incognito mode, in Firefox it’s just called private browsing, in Microsoft Edge it’s called InPrivate Browsing.
  • Locate a website to search for these records. We’ll be providing good methods for this kind of search in the next section.
  • Close your incognito browser. Incognito browsers do not save your history for the session. If you can’t use an incognito browser for this, just wipe your web history to get rid of any evidence of your search.

Where to Find Warrant Information.

Once you’re in your incognito browser, you’re going to need to know where to go. There are a few options for this. The first being using the resources provided to you by the law enforcement sector. Many sheriff’s departments and courts provide warrant information on their websites, so this is a good place to start. The biggest issue with this approach arises with the consistency of information from county to county. Not every county handled their warrant databases the same, and there are even some that don’t have the resources to keep such a database up and running with accurate information so they opt not to.

Another option is to use an online background check company. These services scrub hundreds or even thousands of public record databases all around the country, so if the person in question has a warrant you’ll likely be able to find it this way. This method will also provide you information on their driving history, criminal history, court records, and even arrest records which may be valuable information to you as well.

Searching for Active Warrants for Your Safety and Comfort.

People get warrants every single day for a number of different types of offenses, and it’s useful to know if someone has a warrant.
